Level 3 award in Introduction to Podcasting
A fully accredited course by OCN. The qualification can be used as part of CPD program.

The course is open to all whether military, ex-military or civilians.
We are keen to accommodate those who have been wounded, injured or sick whilst serving.
The course is designed for those with an interest in media and a passion for audio. It does not matter if you’ve never stepped foot in a studio before, we will take you through every step and give you the confidence and skills to make interesting and relatable podcasts.
The cohort will comprise of both the serving military as well as ex-service personnel. The course is open to all regardless of age, rank or previous experience. This course is not just for the military community, but is open to all civilians and can be self-funded.

The course runs from Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 for a duration of two weeks. Additionally, there are self-guided evening sessions in order to complete assignment tasks
Overseen by the BFBS Academy, the course will be delivered by our talented tutors and will cover both theoretical as well as practical aspects of audio and podcasting production. The course will be delivered and assessed at an academic level 3 and the assessment elements (audio and journal production) will be worked on during class time supported by the tutors.
Students will work through the following Units:
Unit 1: Practical Audio Productions
Unit 2: Practical Audio Skills
Unit 3: Project Research Skills
The course is delivered at BFBS’s dedicated media hub at Chalfont Grove in Chalfont St. Peter, SL9 8TN, just 30 minutes by train from London. The closest overland station is Gerrards Cross and the closest underground station is Chalfont & Latimer. We are also within easy reach of the M40, M25 and M4.
Some activities are classroom based whilst others take place out and about, supported by the tutors.
At the end of the course, students will gain a Level 3 Award in Introduction to Podcasting
The course has been fully accredited by OCN (Open College Network) London. You can therefore use this qualification as part of your CPD (Continuous Professional Development) program.
The course will be delivered by media and audio professionals. They bring real-life experiences to the classroom making each lesson relevant and engaging.
Andy Sayers is a radio presenter and producer, with 33 years-experience. Andy has presented and managed regional FM stations in the UK as well as a national station in the UAE. When he’s not in a studio you’ll find him travelling around the UK, and USA, as a roving reporter at music festivals and events.
Andy also tutors radio production and presentation skills for a range of organisations, he has previously delivered at the BFBS Academy HNC Creative Media course. He is passionate about audio and the creativity that can be achieved from taking what you see and putting it into words.
