This course is designed to empower your team and build confidence in planning as well as delivering clear, concise messaging during interviews, be it TV, Radio or Online. This course has a practical element which includes use of practice sessions to increase confidence, refine and improve approach.
Outcomes:
- Attendees will develop an understanding of the craft and methodology of effective spokesperson techniques
- Take into consideration the different approaches required, depending on interview delivery platform
- Build an understanding of types and styles of questioning techniques and technical requirements of each type of media interview.
- Develop knowledge on how to use bridging techniques when handling challenging topics.
- Review filmed practice sessions, working on both peer and tutor feedback, in a mutually supportive environment.
- There is a CPD accreditation of 7 hours upon course completion.
Media Training, Professional Interview Techniques, inc ‘Simulated Press’ (SimPress)

Radio can be a challenging media environment where interviewees do not have the benefit of body language to reinforce their verbal messaging.
Outcomes:
- Understand some of the subject specific vocabulary.
- Feel confident in a professional radio studio setting.
- Practice reacting to both hostile and less combative questioning approaches, with the importance of tone of voice and researching content covered.
This course is aimed at attendees who are required to join a live TV interview from a remote location, a skill even more crucial post pandemic.
Outcomes:
- Understand how background, body language and clothing can affect the overall outcome of the interview.
- Feel confident in an online interview setting.
- Practice reacting to both hostile and less combative questioning approaches.
This course is designed for those who are either required to present live on television or be interviewed by professional journalists and crews.
Outcomes:
- Gain experience answering both friendly and hostile questioning scenarios.
- Understand how body language and clothing can affect the overall outcome of the interview.
- Feel confident in a professional TV studio setting.
Presentation and Public Speaking
Course description:
This course is aimed at those who are required to deliver interactive, interesting presentations to a diverse audience, interact with Stakeholders or deliver presentations at a Trade Show/Conference setting. The course aims to challenge and hone presentation skills, working within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
- Recognise how to engage their audience effectively.
- Achieve their presentation delivery goals.
- Appreciate ‘what good looks like’.
- Have an opportunity to practise delivery through practical workshops which are filmed for later review.

Crisis Communications - Coping with Doorstepping including Simpress
Course description:
Particularly during a crisis, it is important to be fully prepared to meet the press on your doorstep or relevant social media platforms and in interview settings. Crisis communications involves course attendees having a clear idea as to how best to articulate the agreed message, so as not to be caught off guard. Dealing with a combative news or social media crew can be a daunting prospect and training will support a best outcome. We teach to be prepared, practising delivering the message under relevant stressful scenarios.
This is a 1-day course – can be delivered 1:1 on a half / full day format and can be amended to cater for larger teams.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop the craft and methodology of effective spokesperson techniques in relation to media communications.
- Build confidence in planning as well as delivering clear, concise messaging.
- Think about sartorial and body language considerations.
- Consider the different approaches required, depending on interview delivery platform, as well as building an understanding of types and styles of questioning techniques.

- Be able to contribute to the creation of a press briefing pack for a senior leader
