Delivering Professional Interviews
This course is designed to empower your team and build confidence in planning as well as delivering clear, concise messaging during interviews.
Attendees will develop an understanding of the craft and methodology of effective spokesperson techniques in relation to media communications, taking into consideration the different approaches required, depending on interview delivery platform, build an understanding of types and styles of questioning techniques and discuss technical requirements of a studio interview situation – understanding the importance of lighting, quality audio capture, background etc.
This course also has a practical element which includes use of practice sessions to increase confidence and to try out differing approaches to understand what for each individual works best in a mutually supportive environment, rehearsing how to use bridging techniques when handling challenging topics and reviewing filmed sessions with playback from broadcast standard cameras, audio and lighting set ups, working on both peer as well as tutor feedback, to refine and improve approach.

Professional ‘Down the Line’ (remote) Interview Techniques
This course is aimed at attendees who are required to join a live TV interview from a remote location, a skill even more crucial post pandemic, when interviewees will often be asked to join from home or remote office, rather than face to face in a studio. Listening to the programme questions as well as previous media packages before joining the programme live can be daunting and requires specialist skills, all covered and practiced on this course.

Radio Interview Techniques
Radio can be a challenging media environment where interviewees do not have the benefit of body language to reinforce their verbal messaging. This course is aimed at allowing attendees to understand some of the subject specific vocabulary and to feel confident in a professional radio studio setting. We will practice reacting to both hostile and less combative questioning approaches, with the importance of tone of voice and researching content covered.
